NORTH ELMHAM CUBS - October 2015

Posted in General Village Interest

The North Elmham Cub members and families kicked off with a BBQ for their launch of the autumn term.
Summer may have been officially over but despite a small amount of rainfall, lots of happy children, enjoyed games on the village green and took full advantage of the play area, the wonderful new village resource! It was lovely to hear laughter and see lots of smiles on people's faces. A special thanks to David for his BBQ skills throughout the event and thanks to everyone for their efforts on the night.

We also welcomed Sam who has joined us as a volunteer for the club alongside Will. With Lydia and myself it means the group can cater for each child's individual needs and numbers can rise, allowing this village club to continue to grow.

The following week, Cubs then raised money to help children with cancer when they got on their bikes for charity with a sponsored bike ride, along with Lydia and my head shave we hope to make our target of £1000.

The remainder of the month is spent back in the Hall but with a range of activities on offer to complete our current set of badges we have much much more!!!!

We all have a role to play in inspiring the young generation and we thank all those parents who completed a questionnaire showing an interest in being a volunteer, helping on committee or just giving up time occasionally to simply help out or show off a special interest or skill.

For those in the community (whatever your age) who may have a short amount of time free or a special talent that you think the children may enjoy please email or call me for a chat.
