Mosquito Dedication and Memorial

There will be a Church Service in St Mary's, North Elmham, followed by a dedication of the Memorial by the Rev Nicholas Varnon on Sunday 27th April 2014 at 3pm.

Our Royal British Legion plus members from Dereham and Fakenham, the RAF Old Haltonian Apprentices and a representative from RAF Marham will be in attendance. Unfortunately, the RAF Memorial Flight will be unable to do a Flyover as they are out and about that day and to fly over North Elmham would put them out of flying hours.

The family of Flight Lieutenant John Mellar, the navigator, who live in France, will be here but I am not sure if the family of the pilot, Flight Lieutenant John Paterson, who live in New Zealand will be able to come.
Please do come along and join with us in remembering these two young men who very sadly died in this crash on 27th April 1944.

Ed s note: Janet has, with others, put an enormous amount of effort into researching this crash and organising the memorial. She has also written it all up and copies of the research will be available later.
