CHURCH NEWS - August 2015

TRINITY COLLEGE CAMBRIDGE CHOIR. Thanks go to those who arranged for the choir to visit Saint Mary and perform such a stunning concert. The standing ovation was thoroughly deserved by the choir: small wonder that they are considered by many as one of the best choirs in Britain – and beyond.

FAREWELL TO A DEDICATED TEACHER. A lifetime of teaching in one school is extremely rare and something to be honoured and celebrated. It is difficult to calculate how many North Elmham pupils, many of them now young adults and parents themselves, have benefitted from the dedication of Mrs. Jo Coe. To her, we add our expression of gratitude, and our prayers and best wishes for her retirement.

ELMHAM FESTIVAL. We look forward to greeting as many people as possible, including the Dean of Norwich Cathedral, Jane Hedges, who will lead the service of Holy Communion at 10am on Sunday, August 30th.
Thanks in anticipation go to all who will work so hard to provide another memorable weekend in so many different ways.

PRAYER FOCUS. Those living in or near: Broom Green, Broom Green Drive, Broom Green/Holt Road, Yarrow Lane.
Prayers are offered for all in the community, but if there are any specific prayer requests, either for public or private prayer, please let the rector know. There is a 'prayer request' board available in the church also, and this is used by the rector when saying Morning Prayer. Prayers are offered during the course of a week, and there is a space to indicate thanks for a person's recovery.

ECUMENICAL GROUP. We shall meet again in the Autumn to tackle some more Bible texts and faith issues. Topics, dates and times will be announced when decided upon.

"CHUCH HEWMER". If you are nervous about visiting the dentist do not seek comfort from the Psalms. Psalm 81 verse 10: Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.
