FROM WORTHING.... Jan 2016

Posted in Parish Matters

Before we begin 2016, let’s not forget that our Traditional Christmas Carol Service led by our Rector Nicholas Varnon on the 19th at St Margaret’s Church was a special time when many parishioners from the village and neighbouring supporters came together to celebrate the forthcoming arrival of Jesus Christ. Once again everyone contributed in some way. From all the preparation and decorating the Church, to singing some of our favourite carols, to enjoying a glass of mulled wine, mince pie and a chat, thank you everyone for making this service so special and welcoming. This was the last Carol service to be led by Nicholas as he approaches retirement at Easter. From all our parishioners we wished him well and thanked him for all that he has done for Worthing and others.

With Christmas and the Festive Season coming to an end, we hope everyone enjoyed their time with family & friends and with maybe gifts & treats shared & exchanged. If anyone received a new mobile phone and would still like to continue supporting our Church, you could help by donating any redundant mobile phones. If so, and you’re not sure what to do with the old one, then read on ........
Funds could be raised by recycling your old phone. If you can help with this type of donation, please contact: Celia Daniel tel: 01362 668928 / 07813 46657

Thank you for your continued support. And finally, we are pleased to report the the Archdeacon John Ashe has on behalf of the Diocese granted consent for internal repairs be carried out to the plastering of the lower section of walls in our Church. Work should begin early this year and will take approximately 3 – 4 weeks. We shall of course continue will our regular Sunday Services and keep you updated.
