God chose to reveal himself through the life of a child born to a family of little importance, who lived in a remote corner of the great Roman Empire, a life that even seemed to end in failure, by dying on a cross. During the short time that Jesus spent on earth he could bring hope, peace and healing to only a few people. But God knew that what is most visible to our eyes is not necessarily what is most important, that the grain which falls into the earth and seems lost will produce much fruit. If God chooses to act in such a humble and discreet fashion, how can we view our own actions as insignificant?
